Mike Tabor is one of America’s most respected Western Expressionist artists. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, this third generation rancher began drawing and chasing artistic endeavors at an early age. He began his formal training in 1974 at Tarleton State University. Upon his graduation, he cowboyed on various ranches before settling down to pursue an art career.
Tabor credits the pop artist of the 1960’s and the Impressionist movement to his approach in the breaking of traditional representations of Western themes. His work has been best described as “Postmodern Western.” His concern for layers of light and color becomes an intense emotional interpretation.
Tabor has worked with collectors and corporate affiliations from coast to coast, including the home furnishing industry in the U.S. as well as across Europe.
