Bidding & Purchasing Procedures

The Summer Stampede Western Art & Gear Show, presented by Capital Farm Credit, is a fundraiser to support the maintenance, programming and exhibitions of the National Ranching Heritage Center through the Ranching Heritage Association.

In-Person Bidding

  • In-person bidding will begin when doors open at 6 p.m. and will continue until 8 p.m.

  • Bids will also be accepted by phone during the silent auction phase.

  • All bid sheets will be pulled promptly at 8 p.m.

  • The highest bidder at 8 p.m. is the purchaser and is responsible for payment. 

  • All art not sold through the silent auction phase will remain for sale at the advertised price until 10:30 p.m.

  • Online purchasing will open at 8:30 p.m.

  • All sales are final, and there will be no exchanges or refunds on artwork.

All bids must comply with the stated bidding increment for the artwork. Bidding increments are as follows:​

In the event of any dispute between bidders, RHA will have the final discretion to either determine the successful bidder or to re-offer and resell the artwork in dispute.

Payment Information

All art purchases include Texas state sales tax and shipping (within reasonable standards.) RHA accepts cash, checks, major credit cards, and wire transfers. Checks will be accepted with proper identification and should be made payable to the Ranching Heritage Association. 

 

Payment must be received in full by RHA before the artwork will be released to the purchaser. If full payment has not been made within 45 days of the event, RHA reserves the right to resell the artwork or have an affiliated or related company do so. The purchaser agrees to pay all reasonable attorney's fees, court costs, storage fees, and collection costs incurred by RHA.

Packing &
Shipping

All art is available for pick up or shipment at the conclusion of the event. In-person purchases should be checked out by visiting the purchase table at the event. Shipping can be arranged by visiting the purchase table or contacting Dr. Robert Tidwell of the National Ranching Heritage Center at:

By attending the event and bidding on any item, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

Recording and Broadcasting

As a participant in this event, you understand that this event may be video and audio-recorded and/or live broadcasted through web streaming, and, as a part of your participation in the event, you hereby consent to be video and audio-recorded and/or live broadcasted by the Ranching Heritage Association, National Ranching Heritage Center or its affiliates.

You consent to RHA's publicized use and rebroadcast of your name, likeness, voice, and biographical material in connection with the program.

​

You Understand that if you do not wish to be recorded or live broadcasted, RHA may disable your audio and video features in the program's recording/streaming forum, if available; otherwise, your participation in the event constitutes your consent to be recorded and broadcast.

Sale Information

Bidding on any item indicates the bidder's acceptance of these terms and all other terms announced at the time of sale, whether bidding in person, absentee or by telephone.

​

RHA reserves the right to withdraw any artwork before or at the sale.

​

All artwork is sold "as-is, where-is" and neither RHA nor the participating artists make any express or implied warranties or representations with respect to the properties or the correctness of the advertisement, catalog, or any other medium used to announce this sale or any other description of physical condition, quality, importance, or size of the artwork offered. 

​

RHA reserves the right to postpone the auction sales or any session thereof for a reasonable period for any reason whatsoever.

​

RHA is an agent for the participating artists.

​

RHA assumes no risk, liability or responsibility for the authenticity or authorship of any art piece identified in the catalog. 

​

Neither the RHA nor the artists make any representation whatsoever that the purchaser of a work of art will acquire any reproduction rights thereto.

​

If the RHA is prevented by fire, theft, or any other reason whatsoever from delivering any artwork to the purchaser, its liability will be limited to the sum actually paid by the purchaser.

​

The RHA and/or its representatives are not responsible for typographical errors.

​

These conditions of sale and any other applicable conditions, as well as the purchaser's and the RHA's rights and obligations herein, will be governed by, construed, and enforced in accordance with the laws of the state of Texas.

​

If these conditions are not complied with by the purchaser, RHA may, in addition to other remedies available by law, including without limitation the right to hold the property, (a) cancel the sale and retain as liquidated damages any and all payments made b y the purchaser; or (b) resell the property privately or at public auction on three days' notice to the purchaser for payment of any deficiency in the purchase price and all costs, including handling charges, warehousing, the expense of both sales, commissions, reasonable attorney's fees, any and all other charges due, and incidental damages.
